Paper Planes – Work by Mary Laube
[WA] emergence gallery
February 12-March 26, 2016
Reception: Friday, February 12, 7:00-10:00pm
Whitdel Arts is proud to present its next emerging artist, Mary Laube with Paper Planes.
Mary Laube’s work depicts flattened worlds that call attention to the contradictory nature of pictorial space. Drawing from her surroundings, she alters perspective to compress substantial forms into paper thin constructions. Reminiscent of paper-dolls and miniatures, Paper Planes describes painting as an act of staging—the representation of a constructed and idealized world.
Please join us for an opening reception for the artist on Friday, February 12, 2016.
The exhibition will run from February 12-March 26, 2016. This event is free and open to the public. All ages welcome. Open gallery hours are during exhibitions, Saturdays (noon-3pm) or by appointment. For more information, e-mail Jane Larson at email@example.com.
